Our superb establishment has not always been as it is now, in fact it was built in the 1860s as three separate private houses - Dorchester House, Stanley House and Tamworth Lodge. Stanley house was the first to offer accommodation for visitors to the area when it became a guest house in 1937 - in 1958, the three houses were merged to form a fifty-eight room hotel. The latest renovation was in 2004, when new owners completely restyled the building, turning it into a modern, stylish and superbly comfortable establishment that really does have everything you need for a perfect stay, whether you are here on holiday or business everything you need is right here.
Now we have just twenty five spacious, well proportioned and elegantly decorated rooms, each one has been decorated using vibrant, harmonising colours and wonderfully comfortable furniture to create a soothing and relaxing ambiance, that is perfect for a refreshing nights sleep. All of our rooms have the latest in facilities and our highly professional, dedicated and friendly staff will do all they can to make your time with us perfect and we know from experience that the only thing most of our guests don't like about the Dorchester is having to leave at the end of their stay.
We have a magnificent restaurant where you can dine on the exquisite cuisine, freshly created from the finest ingredients and served in the refined, yet relaxed surroundings of our dinning room.
