Our magnificent Elizabethan Grade I building stands in 50 acres of wonderful forest and parkland, close to Windsor. With its history stretching back to the 16th century it was reputedly built as a royal hunting lodge, and has had a list of distinguished owners and many members of the nobility have enjoyed staying here. In 1930 it was opened as a hotel, with much thought and care being taken to ensure that its original features and historic detail were retained. The house is now much the same as it has always been, although all of the latest technology expected of a hotel of our quality has been carefully blended with the original character of the building. We have 48 well proportioned rooms and suites, all of them individually decorated with authentic Persian rugs, superb gilt furnishings and many walls hung with original tapestries; the antiques and artefacts are genuine and many date back hundreds of years. Each room has developed its own special and unique atmosphere that has matured and grown over the centuries. For your convenience our rooms have a stylishly and elegant bathroom, with bath or shower, complimentary toiletries and bath robes; central heating; windows that open; hairdryer; comfortable sitting area and colour TV with satellite channels.
Our Oak Room Restaurant with its arched oak beams and high stone windows, has the perfect atmosphere for an intimate meal. The superb menu offers a wide choice of dishes, all created by our talented Chef from only the finest ingredients and served with a smile by our pleasant and courteous staff.
