Surrounded by the beautiful Kent countryside our magnificent establishment stands in its own superb grounds on the Tunbridge Road, just minutes from the town of Maidstone. The land was originally acquired by Lewis Davis Wigan in 1869 and the records for the time show he was living in Oakwood house by 1871, and in 1913 part of the estate was turned over to what is now Maidstone Golf Club. The house itself has an intriguing history, built by a merchant banker who lived their with his large family, during the second world war it was, or at least part of it was taken over by the military, before being purchased by the Maidstone Council as an educational establishment in 1948. It was not until 1989 that it underwent its last transformation and became the magnificent Hotel, Conference, Training and Banqueting Centre that you now find.
With forty one well proportioned, elegant and well equipped single, twin, double and family rooms we can cater for single travellers here on business or an extended family here on holiday with equal ease. All rooms are en-suite and have all of the facilities that the modern traveller would expect to find in an establishment of this class.
Although a cosy and welcoming establishment, we are also large enough to cater for all your corporate or special events. Whether its a birthday or wedding anniversary for ten, a sit down meal for one-hundred and fifty or a buffet for over two hundred our banqueting suites offer elegant surroundings to match your needs. If you require even more space, we have marquee accommodation for up to three hundred, ideal for corporate celebrations or product launches.
