As you enter you are greeted by cordial staff to see you to your table and a fine aroma of great things to come. There are many great dishes to choose from all of which the chef seem to have a great deal of knowledge of. Some are simple and well cooked while others are delectably flavoured to add to the "delfishes" flavour of the fresh fish. Many of the dishes include fresh local ingredients as with the asparagus starter I had in late spring. Never before have those little English greens tasted so much like giants a true delight. The whitebait which is a regular on the menu I am told was also delicious.
There are many types of fish and seafood available both for starters and main course. For those who have not got the taste for it there are also some other dishes available. When I was in last there was a very nice duck dish on the menu. Monkfish, tuna, sea bass and cod were but 4 of the main fish courses available while we were there.
Good side dishes of fresh seasonal vegetables were a good accompaniment to have handy and pass around.
The selections of deserts was also a delight with good fresh in season fruits used as well as a selection of traditional English deserts. The sticky toffee pudding is a favourite in the colder seasons while of course the delightful selection of ice creams with a fine selection of tasty sauces would be a great choice at warmer times of the year.
The wine menu is quiet comprehensive with a selection for most palettes.
I personally will be visiting again and I would recommend this dining experience to all. Reasonably priced for the city it is a very worthwhile night out. Booking a table is advised.
