On the North West coast, 14 miles north of Liverpool it has over 22 miles of coastline and one of the largest dune systems in the country, with varying scenery: from gorgeous golden sands to nature reserves. Other greenery in the town comes in the forms of the vast Hesketh and Victoria parks and the colourful Botanic Gardens at the north end of town. As well as tourists, festivals also love to come to town with some of the most popular being The Southport Flower Show, the International Jazz Festival and the spectacular British Musical Fireworks Championships. Being on the coast, you can get to the town by ferry as well as by road, rail and air. Daily sailings from Liverpool, Dublin and Belfast supplement direct rail links from Liverpool and Manchester, and easy access by car.
