Set in the peaceful market town of Helmsley, a sleepy backwater on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, the Feversham Arms has welcomed guests for well over one hundred and fifty years. Helmsley has not always been so sleepy, when the inn was built it was the haunt of local mill workers who were famed for their leather breeches, their ability to drink copious amounts of beer and the regular fist-fights that frequently erupted after a nights drinking.Thankfully the mills, and the workers, have gone and visitors can now expect a peaceful and quiet stay but there is still plenty to see and do. Duncombe Park, home of Lord and Lady Faversham, and Helmsley Walled Garden are within walking distance. Castle Howard - The North Yorkshire Moors Railway and of course the spectacular scenery of the Moors themselves are only a short drive.
