Gaskell Arms Hotel & Restaurant Much Wenlock High Street, Much Wenlock Online Booking
The picturesque town of Much Wenlock is known as the 'Black and White' town because of its many historic black and white timbered buildings. The history of the town can be traced back as far as the 16th century and was home to Dr William Penny Brookes, one of the most influential pioneers of the modern day Olympic Games. He actually held many of his meetings to plan the organisation of the games in what is now the magnificent oak beamed restaurant of our establishment.
Originally built as a Coaching Inn in the 17th century our hotel has wonderful charm and character, with many of the original features still visible. Over the years many changes have taken place to the building and now we offer the finest in comfortable, elegant and stylish accommodation. Each of our rooms are individually decorated in soft, harmonising colours and fine fabrics and have everything that you would expect to find in an establishment of this quality. We also have a beautiful self-catering apartment that is situated adjacent to the Inn with its own separate entrance and comprises well equipped kitchen, stylish bathroom and two well proportioned bedrooms that overlook the landscaped garden.
Our oak beamed restaurant has a cosy and intimate atmosphere, the perfect setting for enjoying the exquisite cuisine that is lovingly created from only the finest ingredients from our talented and imaginative chef.
We are a family friendly establishment with a child friendly attitude and cots, cribs, highchairs and a children's menu are available on request. We also have a family room and play area and the safe garden for children to play in.
