Away from the town centre, the attractions do not thin out. The 12th-century Church of the Holy Sepulchre (or simply the Round Church, due to the shape of its nave) is one of only a handful of such buildings in Britain today, and was based on its famous Jerusalem namesake. Two important museums are the Sedgwick, with its extensive collection of pre-historic artefacts; and the Fitzwilliam Museum (one of the nation's oldest), which includes paintings by Monet, Picasso and Renoir, as well as both original manuscripts of The Canterbury Tales and Handel's compositions.
